Hello, friend. I hope this update finds you in a good place.
With all that’s happening in the world, it’s important for us to feel good in our souls. Sure, I know that it can be hard when the images that pour through our screens and flood our timelines seem so heavy and soul-crushing. But that’s why we should become intentional about filling our lives with all the goodness, safety, and sweetness we can muster.
I encourage you to carve out a safe space for yourself in all the busyness, heaviness, and drudgery of these times. For me, it is writing, caring for my plants, and going on walks. These simple practices cost me nothing but fill me with a sense of wellness and that good in my soul feeling. What’s your thing? If you don’t have one, find one. Or a few. I promise it will lighten the weight and heaviness accompanied by these days.
If you’ve been to the FemmePowered website in the past week, you’ll see it has gotten a facelift to reflect the new direction. FemmePowered has been online for 6 years now! It changes as I do. A few months ago I knew it was time to pivot. I shifted gears and decided to focus on storytelling and conversations with women around the world. Our voices are powerful vehicles for expressing ideas, sharing truth, and challenging the way we live and show up in the world. So I created the FemmePowered podcast.
The first two episodes of a 10-episode season 1 can be heard now.
Episode 1 – The Wisdom & Vulnerability of the Vagina with Gina Cloud
Episode 2 – Anxiety, Mindfulness, and Exploring Therapy – with Deya
You can listen to the first 2 episodes now, with new episodes released each Sunday. I’m excited to share it with you and would love your feedback! If you like the podcast, then subscribe through the many options displayed here so you don’t miss an episode.
You’ll notice no writing that isn’t connected to the podcast, the book club, and events on the site. I’ve moved my writing to a paid, subscription-based platform, Substacks and you can support me there. The book club I launched in 2018 in collaboration with The Connection is still active. We have met monthly since our launch but took a break due to COVID-19 and hope we can meet again soon. If you would like to join us, feel free to get in touch.
I’d be remiss if I closed this post without giving a big-up to this season’s sponsor, Cannes Brulees Rum. Without them, this podcast could not happen. I’m honored they believed in this project and were happy to throw their support and resources behind it. And when I say they are the best rum producer on the island, I’m unapologetic about it! Check out their site and pick up a bottle from your preferred supermarket.
Enjoy what’s left of your week!
Talk soon,
Carlana.
