1. About Sankofa

Sankofa is a journal created by Carlana Charles-McGuire. It publishes stories, conversations, reflections and field notes concerning memory, place, culture, institutions and the wisdom carried across the Global South.

The website is provided for informational, cultural and educational purposes.

2. Informational content

The content published on Sankofa reflects the author’s observations, interpretations and conversations at the time of publication.

It is not legal, financial, medical, psychological or other professional advice. You should obtain advice from an appropriately qualified professional before making decisions that depend on your particular circumstances.

While reasonable care is taken when preparing content, we do not guarantee that every statement will always be complete, current or free from error.

3. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its original content are owned by Carlana Charles-McGuire or used with permission. This includes:

Sankofa will not publish a submitted personal story or identifiable contribution solely because it was sent through the contact form. Publication, attribution and any necessary permissions will be discussed separately.

You may subscribe voluntarily to receive letters and updates from Sankofa. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Delivery is not guaranteed because messages may be affected by spam filters, email-provider restrictions or technical interruptions.

The website may link to Paperclip Limited, social-media platforms, sources and other third-party websites.

These links are provided for context or convenience. A link does not necessarily mean that Sankofa endorses everything published by that third party.
