Birthing Project August 2015 Workshop

Birthing Project August 2015 Workshop

I’m doing it again! So I’ve just set the date and time for the August 2015 workshop. In case you missed the first one, no worries, it’s coming back. On Sunday 9 August at 1PM, we’ll convene upon a quaint little cottage in the country and spend the afternoon with our pens and journals. If you’re tech savvy you can bring your laptop too but I’d rather you bring something you can write on.

Similar to the first time around, there will be laughing, crying, reflecting, discovering of truths. Because this time I’m running the workshop in the evening, no food will be served but there’ll be light and filling snacks such as muffins, cornbread, cookies, cake and of course, copious cups of tea and coffee. There will also be water and juice.

The workshop is a hands-on, intimate sort of affair on personal storytelling, creative life writing and deep soul journaling.  At the end of the workshop, participants will not just understand how to approach this sort of writing  but they will walk away with the knowledge and tools on how to make it a fruitful habit in their lives.

Before signing up you should know that this is not a professional or academic writing workshop. There are no textbooks, boring powerpoints, sleep-inducing spreadsheets or uber professional looking speakers. Think more along the lines of personal development in a relaxed, intimate setting. Participants are asked to come to the workshop with:

  • pens and a journal. or a notebook, something that will feel comfortable writing in and you can use as part of a regular writing practice. highlighters, index cards and colored pens are good if you have them on hand. if not, that’s cool. i usually keep these stocked. a laptop is cool too, if that is your preference.
  • a good attitude and an open mind. simply because that’s the best way to approach this sort of workshop. and it’s always a good thing to have, too.
  • comfortable clothing. think sweat and yoga pants, flowy skirts, summer dresses, breathable wear, flip flops. this isn’t your pwu or national stadium type of event location. it’s more intimate and i want you to relax and feel comfortable. the atmosphere is informal, light and friendly. you can even ditch the makeup if you want 🙂

Registration ends on August 5. Workshop fee is $50 and includes a PDF guide, refreshments, the fellowship of other women, sage advice and a new practice. Good bargain, right? You can make payment on the day of the workshop but you must confirm your attendance first. To participate, you must agree to complete an assessment/review form on completion of the workshop. No need add your name. I only just need the feedback. Grab your space by completing the form below.
