Join me on Blog Talk Radio tomorrow!
So tomorrow I’ll be doing something totally different. I’ll be hosting 2 shows on Blog Talk Radio!
At 7 AM EST Beverley and I will be teaming up again to do a show on Social Media Marketing. We’ve had some fabulous responses to the show we did on WordPress and Social Media, so we’ve decided to do another one tomorrow. Even if 7AM is too early for you, you can always come back to the site to check out show as I’ll be putting the link on the site.
On my second show I will be joined by social media author, Tiffany Odutoye as we discuss her new book, Now What Do I Do: An entrepreneurs guide to the next step with Social Media. I’m pretty stoked about this interview and would love for you to join us on the show by calling in with your questions and comments for Tiffany. The show airs at 2 PM EST. Catch you on the show.
To call in on both shows the number is 646 595 3070.
WordPress and Social Media Marketing. Hear what we think!
Hi Y’all: Check out the show Beverley and I did today on Blog Talk Radio. If you missed it, we were talking about the power of Social Media and WordPress. Check it out and share your comments on it. Did we miss a point worth raising, did we (ok, did I?) ramble about a topic for too long? I’d like to hear!!
PS: You’ll hear a 1 minute radio ad before the show starts. I think Blog Talk Radio recently started sticking in ads before the show. Don’t mind that too much. Hey, they need to make their money too, right.

5 reasons why small business should embrace social media.
Social media marketing is not a fad but a growing trend amongst small businesses. Still, not all are on board with the trend and many are yet to participate or participate actively. Social marketing is here to stay and because your business is here for the long haul as well, it is important that you embrace it now. Here are the 5 reasons why you start your social media marketing campaign today:
1.Get an edge on your competitors. Because most small businesses are still not into social marketing, you have the opportunity to get a competitive advantage over your competitors who are not using social media marketing. Jump on the bandwagon and become one of the early adopters! Your customers will thank you for it.
2. Your customers are utilizing it. Internet users are utilizing social media to influence their purchasing and where they spend. They are influenced by the rants that consumers make about products and will often check out forums and groups for opinions when purchasing. By being active in social media you can diffuse any negative reactions to your product or brand. If you are not using social media it will be challenging to keep your fingers on the pulse of your clients.
3. Your toughest competitors are probably already using it. If you follow your competitors closely, you

Social media marketing and the link with customer service
Poor customer service sucks and is very dangerous and costly for businesses and brands.
Prior to the advent of social media, the company that provided mediocre customer service and treated their clients with indifference could have gotten away with it and have little to minimum impact on their brand. Apart from the person affected, few people would know. Social marketing has changed this and the provider that fails to meet consumer expectations not only damages their brand, but builds a bad name and online reputation for themselves. In an age where information is quickly and easily disseminated, damage to a brand’s reputation can have far-reaching and long-lasting repercussions. Social media is changing the way businesses think about customer service. The cost of poor service, once measured in terms of single consumers, can now have an immediate and far-reaching impact on companies both far and wide. The onus on each company in this business new environment is to play it safe by delivering stellar service and staying attuned to their customers.
For the company that is new to social marketing and now coming to terms with the impact that it can have on their product or brand,
