How You Can Use Twitter for Your Virtual Events

Published by CarlanaCharles on October 26th, 2010

In running virtual events, one of the things I noticed is that people seem to be Tweeting a lot during the event. A lot of them are tweeting about being in the event and the presentations that they are currently watching. This got my attention. How can I use Twitter to promote virtual events? bsetcetera.com I did a little research and here are some strategies I came up.

  • Create a Twitter account for the event and ask your registrants to follow the account. This can serve as a venue to communicate with your registrant before the event and your attendees during the event.
  • Construct a hash tag for the event. For example, when I attended the International Freelancers Day, the hash tag for the event is #IFD2010. More than a month after the event, attendees are still tweeting about the lessons they learned from the event but using the hash tag #IFD10Chat. An easy to

Making the Most Out of Your Internet Marketing VA

Published by CarlanaCharles on September 9th, 2010

Marketing virtual assistants can be very useful for your business. Aside from the usual Internet marketing tasks of article marketing, social bookmarking, and blogging; you can also ask your marketing VA to do the following:

  • Create marketing materials. Marketing virtual assistants are usually knowledgeable in desktop publishing. Ask your marketing to redesign your business cards. Such a VA would also come in handy when you need brochures, fliers, and postcards for your offline marketing efforts. Your marketing VA can design these materials, submit the designs for your approval, and find a company that can print those materials for you. All you have to do is find people that will distribute those materials for you.
  • Get your business listed. Yellow pages, both online and offline are still feasible ways to generate new business. Task your Internet marketing VA into listing your company in national and local online directories like Manta.com. At the same, have your VA find out how you can get listed in printed local directories.
  • Write newsletters. Newsletter is one of the most widely used Internet marketing techniques. Customers and other web site visitors are asked to opt-in to newsletters that are directly sent to their email in regular intervals. Your marketing VA can do your newsletter for you and email it to your subscriber

Cherish what matters

Today’s post is a bit different. In fact, a grand departure from all my other posts.

Most post has generally tended to around the business that I do but I felt like sharing something a bit different today. When I got this via email yesterday, it made me stop to reflect. In the process of trying to build and take my business to new levels, I admit that I’ve let some close relationships slide. I stopped going out and was spending all my time tweaking things on my site, networking on others and just putting all I had into developing my business. I paid dearly. Some of my relationships got so strained it became hard to have the sort of relationships I shared with these people in the past. Work addiction can cause

2 simple steps to pursuing your passion.

Published by CarlanaCharles on January 19th, 2010

At a very early age I knew that I did not want to get to the end of my days here on earth and look back with regret. I think that dying with thoughts of what could have or should have been would probably hasten me to my grave.

We all have passions, dreams and aspirations some may consider lofty and unrealistic. I think that only the dreamer can determine if his or her ambitions are lofty and worth pursuing. No one else can determine that for another person.

Most people spend most of their lives earning a living instead of creating a life worth living. The sad truth is, it very easy for this to happen. In my last blog post for 2009 I shared about pursuing passions. It is so important to do something that excites and inspires you every once in a while or else drudgery and monotony are sure to step in!

The 2 steps I suggest are basic and uncomplicated, although one may argue that putting the steps into practice is where things tend to get a tad iffy.
