Hi there! I’m Carlana Charles, Principal of Carlana Charles VA Service, a virtual assistance practice specializing in video marketing, the creation of e-learning, marketing and tutorial videos and the planning and management of virtual or web-based events.
Personally
I enjoy sharing my life with the people who matter the most to me and doing things that bring value to my life. When I’m not working I’m exploring the internet, reading a good book, going to the beach, snorkeling in Tobago’s Bucco Reef, exploring Caribbean history (I’m a history buff), traveling and spending time with my husband and our many pets. There’s much more that I could share, but I think in time, you’ll learn more.
Professionally
Prior to venturing into the world of self-employment, I was the General Operations Manager for the Caribbean branch of a UK-based international boutique accounting and company management firm. Although the job offered many benefits, I longed for much more in my professional life than what the corporate world had to offer.
In 2006, armed with over a decade of experience in various administrative, customer service, sales, marketing and managerial capacities under my belt, I took a leap of faith and made the decision to become the full-time business owner I always wanted to be.
When I established my VA practice years ago, I originally intended to cater to the business support needs of busy professionals, startup companies, overwhelmed executives and just about anyone needing an extra hand in achieving their business objectives. Initially, I only offered customer service and administration. However, over time my business has evolved as my skills and training increased and I’m experienced, competent and certified to offer much more.
From my time being a VA, I’ve learned that the people who tend to be the best and the brightest in their fields are usually the ones who sometimes need help the most. They are good at their chosen niche but may not know how to manage their business effectively, take it to the next level or handle the responsibilities that are so vital to the overall success of their business. And since everyone needs a little help sometimes, this is where I come in. I’ve also taken the time to invest in myself and have training, certification and and solid experience to provide each service I offer.
